Are you as clever as a Volkswagon?
Posted Monday, 24 November 2008 by RillaWe recently posted about 42goodthings, a site showcasing 42 videos of how you can use the Samsung Omnia. Another that is similar in spirit, but better, I think, is the Volkswagon Clever Innovations website from the Netherlands.
It highlights five “clever” features of Volkswagon cars, which are nicely communicated through the use of funny, scenario-relevant videos and impressive design tricks (such as the use of the moving rectangular view to signify a moving car).
What sets it apart from a site like 42goodthings is that viewers are required to guess which of the 5 features will help resolve the problematic scenario, thus introducing a game-like element in the mix. Making viewers engage with scenarios and relevant features means they’re more likely to recall them: one of the goals of good advertising.
Oh, and there’s a count down timer…
